Turning off the light in the bathroom, Blue made her way back down the hall and headed back to the sitting room.

“Hey, I was think—Whoa. Where’d everybody go?” she asked, looking around the empty, dimly lit room.

“I sent them on a mission. Come have a drink with me.” Blue rounded the couch and went to stand next to him. Taking the drink from his hand, she sniffed it.

“What is it?”

“Delaire Graff. It’s Cabernet Sauvignon. I bought it when I went to Germany two years ago and never had a reason to drink it.”

“And tonight is a reason?” She smirked.

“Yeah, I get to hang out with the prettiest girl of them all.” Blue blushed.

“Are you flirting with me, Mr. Smith?”

“If that’s what you’d like to call it. I never had to really flirt with anyone.” Blue nodded as she sipped the wine.

“It’s bitter, but it’s good.”

“You’ll get used to it. We’re only having one glass, any more than that and we’ll be somewhere over the moon.” They both laughed as they reclaimed their seats.

“I just want to let you know that I’m not good at explaining my feelings… I feel like I’ve always had to mute myself because no one ever wanted to hear me. But, being around you and your brothers, I feel free—accepted. I wish I had siblings or friends that I could talk to about anything, but the truth of the matter is, I don’t. I guess what I’m trying to say is, thank you for being so nice to me and helping me break the chains of my past. Oh, and sharing your brothers with me… I adore them!” She giggled. “Even Poppa and Hitta with their mean selves.”

“What about me?”

Blue smiled. “I probably adore you the most.”

“Is that right?”

“Yes. You showed me how to pray, how to meditate, how to be in tune with my inner-self, and to forgive. I don’t know what life I was living because I’ve never had friends. I talk to a few girls, but we only associate when there’s a show or industry party to go to. In the last three weeks, I’ve felt more alive than I have all of my life.” Loc smiled as he pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her.

“I’m going to be honest with you, B. I like you. I like how smart you are, how willing and eager you are to learn new things, and how humble and silly you can be. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I adore you too.” Blue blushed as Loc moved closer to her as he tucked a piece of her hair that had fallen out of her ponytail. As they moved in to kiss, Loc’s phone shrilled as he hurried and grabbed it from the table. It was Maddon.

“What’s wrong?” Loc answered.

“Tree just got pulled over by the cops. They’re saying his license is suspended and they found a quarter of marijuana on him.”

“Damnit. Where are y’all now?”

“We’re following them to the station.”

“Alright hang tight, I’ll be there in a minute.
